Religion in Medicince
In the very beginning of medical history medical procedures were performed by Saints and priests. Healing was done in temples and were seen as miracles. Some of the earliest accounts of these miracles claim that patients limbs would be miraculously transplanted in their sleep if they slept in temples (Hamilton, 2012, p. 5).
Years later medicine started to steer away from the religious aspects, but not all at once. Many people at the time still believed that doctors used a higher power to heal, but that power did not come from God. Doctors were thought to have been seeking help from the devil in order to heal people.
